Pond Issue Update: On October 7, 2008, C. Marks and J. Lee and community attorney, C. Holzer met with Jonas Jacobson and Al Wirth of DEPRM to discuss the status of the pond repair. As you know, the Baltimore County Council passed Bill 84-08 in August to pave the way for the county to do the necessary repairs and the cost to be passed along to each homeowner over a three year period with six percent interest.
During this meeting it was determined that a final signed and sealed copy of the plans needed to be submitted to the DEPRM office. As of the posting of this news update, this request has been complied with. It was also determined that a joint state permit was also needed before work could begin.
This permit could cost this community an additional $800.00. However, DEPRM is trying to obtain this permit and the cost to this community could be waived.
If everything goes to plan, work on the pond should begin in May or June of 2009 and should be complete within a two week period. Payments for these repairs would be reflected on the 2010, 2011, and 2012 Tax Assessment statements. We will keep you updated on community progress in this area.
Other News: Now that the season has arrived, leaves have begun to fall from the trees and we all are raking lawns and backyards. Please refrain from blowing excess leaves into the streets which only gather on neighbors lawns and property, not to mention this practice makes roads slippery when wet.
Holiday Light Judging: This yearly event will take place on Sunday, December 21 after 6:30 P.M; 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners in both townhomes and single family homes will be posted in our next news update.
Board of Director’s Meeting: The next meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the Honeygo Park Recreation Center, beginning promptly at 7 P.M. All are welcome to attend and make suggestions on community improvements.
