In an effort to keep you informed of community actions which are taking place behind the scenes and between newsletters, the board of directors has decided to post periodic news updates to our website.
These updates will appear from time to time but at no set date. Again, this is why it is important that all community members make it a point of checking this website occasionally. Not only will it have all the current information, but it also will have this section for current events.
Pond Issue Update: In an effort to keep you up to date on the pond issue, please be advised
of the following information:
The Board of Directors has received a draft set of plans for the repair
of the pond from Dan O’Leary (MNF Engineering). The originals of these
plans were submitted to Al Wirth of the DEPRM office in Towson. At
this point, the plans are in the review stage of this complicated and
costly process. A process that could take weeks or even a month or
two before Mr. O’Leary and this community association are notified
whether or not these plans have been approved. If approved, we can
then proceed with a final set of plans and bidding for the actual work.
The draft copies will be available for viewing at
our September 13, 2007 meeting (which was posted on this website, under
Board on June 7, 2007) for all who want to review them. Remember, these
are not the final set of plans, so if you have any suggestions or ideas,
the time to express them would be at this meeting. We implore you not
to wait until the final plans are submitted and then come forth with
suggestions. When we reach that point, no changes can or will be made.
Where we stand as of this notice:
Late May - Field visit with design staff (Done)
Early June - Begin engineering drawings for repairs (Done)
Mid to Late June - Submit plans and supporting data to DEPRM for
review (Done)
Late June to Early July - Respond to DEPRM and SCD comments, finalize
plans and resubmit
The status of where we stand and what the process will be for the
Special Assessment for the repairs to the pond will also be discussed
at this meeting; a sharing of ideas on how we should proceed.
And speaking of assessments, we are proud to inform you that we have
received assessment payments from 248 of the 249 homeowners in our
community. Congratulations!
